I made some stinging nettle and onion pastries this week.
Nettles: not so scary once you've blanched them. Take that, stingy bits.

This coming week I'm gonna throw together something else nettle-themed, with some of the last of this year's wild leeks (they're supposed to be done in another week or two). Not sure what it will be yet, but it will be delicious. Possibly pasta-based.
I will also make some sort of scrumptious felafel-inspired sandwich with chickpea and fenugreek sprouts that I picked up at the market. Oh yes. It'll be good.
Drop me a line if you'd like some.

news!

i have been negligent, i know.
i didn't even post a menu this week.

that's because it's spring! i have been gallivanting around two (two!) farmer's markets, have signed up for a CSA from Kawartha Ecological Growers and have been cheating on you by cooking for a lovely friend.

to appease, i leave you with photos of previous menu items.

These were the baked vegetable samosas with tamarind chutney

Remember those apple empenadas? They were great!

Not the prettiest dish, this squash and sage pasta bake - but super tasty!

More to come. There are gonna be some changes here at Library Food... I'll keep ya posted.

On Hiatus

Hello friends.
Due to it being production week for the show I'm working on, there will be no Library Food menu this coming week.
HOWEVER.
I am going to offer up some delicious treats from the archives, aka my freezer.
Available:
beef pot pie
char siu (cantonese bbq pork)
mushroom bourguignon pie
senegalese maafe tempeh stew
southwest bbq pulled beef brisket
cheese and potato pierogies

These will be frozen with instructions on how to cook them.
There will be no deadline, just let me know if you'd like something and we can arrange to meet!
